![]() In truth, though, the Margo we meet is fantasy through and through, an impossible person who exists purely to help the hero grow up. Ultimately, Q must realise that Margo is a human being rather than an idealised fantasy, a message sanctimoniously underlined in his final voice-over. Green is nothing if not a master of having it both ways: initially we are encouraged to side with Margo in her loathing of conformist suburbia, but gradually the story morphs into an ode to the everyday and the joy of fitting in. Paper Towns is mixed well too, almost to a fault: care has been taken to include the right number of toilet jokes and the right amount of navel-gazing, ensuring things don't get too edgy or not edgy enough. As Q's pedantic friend Radar, the practically unknown Justice Smith gives the perfect dejected reading to the funniest line, when he's forced to say something nice about a song he dislikes: "It was mixed well." Still, all the young actors have their moments, especially in scenes of group banter. Schreier sticks to a muted, naturalistic colour palette and does little to stylise the material beyond the occasional joky montage a few scenes set in shadowy, derelict buildings promise a swerve into horror that never materialises. In other respects too the film plays it safe, portraying only the mildest or most fanciful forms of teen rebellion. We hope you are watching Paper Towns full movie streaming on site with good quality. But this isn't pushed into David Lynch territory: despite his hang-ups, Q remains a decent, well-meaning kid. This Gothic element in the narrative puts an unsettling slant on the scenes where Q's quest turns obsessive – where he and his friends start bribing their way into Margo's empty bedroom and rifling through her things. Paper Towns Release Date: When was it released Paper Towns was released in 2015 on Friday, J(Nationwide release). Margo is a free-spirited kook, but also embodies another, related archetype: the alluring but damaged Lost Girl, like Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks. She has an extensive vinyl collection, once ran off to join the circus, and uses capitals indiscriminately in writing because "the rules are so unfair to the letters in the middle". Viewers over the age of, say, 14 are likely to be suspicious of the whole conception of Margo, who may be named after Gwyneth Paltrow's character in The Royal Tenenbaums, and in any case is similarly all quirk. Q assembles a group of friends and sets out to find her, aided by the clues she's left behind – though there are intimations that his quest may be doomed, or at least that the journey will prove more important than the arrival. In a daring narrative gambit, Margo then disappears, staying absent for much of the movie aside from a couple of dream sequences. Then one night, she climbs through his window and leads him on the wildest night of his life, which mainly involves him helping her get revenge on her ex-boyfriend (Griffin Freeman) and other foes. Friends in childhood, Q and Margo drift apart in high school, where he grinds away while she keeps taking off on unlikely adventures.
